Our Halal Promise

Halal isn’t a marketing label for us; it’s the reason Zadih exists. We want every family who shops with us to feel confident about what they’re putting on the table. That means being honest about where our food comes from, and equally honest about what we can and can’t claim.

Our meat and poultry

All meat and poultry we sell as halal comes from suppliers and butcher partners who supply it to us as halal. Before we work with a supplier, we ask for their halal documentation and keep it on file, and we check it again whenever it’s renewed.

What we will and won’t say

  • We only name a certification body, or show its logo, when we hold current paperwork that covers that specific product or supplier.
  • We only describe meat as hand-slaughtered, non-stunned or stunned when our supplier has confirmed it in writing for that product.
  • If we’re not sure, we’ll say so rather than guess.

Keeping it halal after it reaches us

Halal meat is stored, packed and transported separately from all other items. Zadih does not stock pork or alcohol products, and our delivery boxes are used for halal food only.

Packaged groceries

For packaged groceries, any halal logo or statement on the pack is the manufacturer’s own claim. Recipes and certification can change, so please check the label on the item you receive, as well as the product page.

Non-food items

Clothing, shoes, bags, household goods and tools are not food and are not described as halal-certified. We do aim to choose products that suit a Muslim household, such as modest clothing and alcohol-free household products where we can.
